This week, we’re joined by Character Options for the ChillFactor takeover.

ChillFactor is the super-cool collection that makes stuff cool; you can read about ChillFactor in our product guide here. But first, as part of the takeover, we’re bringing you five fun ideas to chill out this summer!

Go for a walk

With the warmer weather beckoning, going for a stroll with the family can be just the ticket. Not only will it offer an opportunity for some quality family time, spent without the distraction of screens, but it’ll also get the blood pumping and get fresh air to the lungs. And we all know how great exercise is for mental and physical wellbeing!

Enjoy a family picnic

Picnics are a GREAT way to chill out in the warmer summer months. They bring everyone together in the scenic great outdoors, with food, games and merriness! What more could you ask for (okay… maybe pack a bottle of wine too!).

Go for a bike ride

Adults and children will be brought together with this fun, wholesome activity! Not yet all got bikes or have the kids outgrown theirs? You can pick up a second hand bike pretty reasonably on ebay or GumTree!

Make a slushy

With the temperatures (hopefully) rising, there’s no better way to beat the heat than with a delicious frozen treat! The ChillFactor Slushy Maker make yummy slushies in seconds! No ice, no blenders, no mess! They’re so easy to use, all you have to do is put it in the freezer, wait for it to freeze, add the preferred chilled drink, and then squeeze! The slushy will appear in seconds, right before your eyes! Simply freeze, squeeze, enjoy!

Build a puzzle

Okay, so living in Britain, we know that summer doesn’t necessarily mean sunshine. So, should the day be a bit dreary, why not crack open a puzzle and come together to build it?! It’s a great mindfulness activity and it’s also a really good way to support early years development.
