The New Year is here, and with it a whole host of trends to try out. From pattern clashing and tie-dye to the popular leopard print, this year is all about colour and switching it up with print. We’ve been eyeing up the catwalks and with the help of Cosmopolitan, here are this year’s Spring/summer fashion trends that you need to try.

Pattern Clashing
There’s no denying that a vibrant print is a great fashion statement, so why not mix and match patterns for a truly unique look? As seen on catwalks at Richard Quinn and Versace, grab this Spring’s trend for bright and bold motifs by the balls and allow clashing patterns to take over. From florals to polka dots, this fun craze will be sure to make you a fashion force to be reckoned with!

Tie-dye
If your wardrobe is all-black-everything, this year may be a struggle for you, because along with bold pattern clashing, there’ll be a load of tie-dye on the scene too. As seen on the catwalks at R13, John Elliot and Collina Strada, this tie-dye is sophisticated and reminiscent of a carefree childhood.

Leopard Print
Seeing us through to the New Year is leopard print. As seen on the runway at R13, Nicole Miller and Tom Ford, this chic print is perfect for everyday wear and night time glamour.

Bike shorts
Who would’ve thought that the cycling staple would have made it onto the catwalk? Spotted at Chanel, Stella McCartney and Prada, bike shorts have slowly been making a comeback. Finishing just above the knee, bare your legs this summer and team with oversized jackets, tops and shirts.

Hats
Hats are the hottest accessory of Spring/summer, whether they be oversized or bucket hats. Not only are hats stylish but they are practical, helping to protect our faces from the sun.
