For kids that love to get back to nature and see all kinds of wild animals, take a look at these fantastic animal attractions around the UK. There’s something for everyone!
Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, Burford
Enjoy a great day out at the Cotswold Wildlife Park with over 260 animal species in 160 acres of spacious parkland. Stroll up the new Giraffe Walkway and come eye-to-eye with these amazing creatures. Picnic whilst watching Rhinos grazing on the lawns of the Gothic Manor House. Leap about with Lemurs, ride the railway or climb your way through the adventure playground, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.
Woburn Safari Park, Woburn
Woburn Safari Park has a proud history of animal conservation stretching back over 100 years on the Bedford Estate. This park offers an exciting educational day out with over 1000 wild animals living in beautiful parkland reserves.
ZSL London Zoo, London
The zoo’s biggest and perhaps most breath taking experience is the Land of the Lions. They’ve created a state of the art facility for their pride of Asiatic animals. Sadly only 400 of these beautiful creatures still exist in the wild so they’re doing everything they can to educate visitors and support a flourishing breeding programme. Equally brilliant is the giraffe viewing platform from which you can get eye-to-eye with the world’s tallest mammal.
West Midlands Safari Park, Bewdley
West Midlands Safari and Leisure Park is a safari park located in Bewdley in Worcestershire, England. It was opened under the name of West Midland Safari Park in spring 1973. The park holds over 165 species of exotic animals, among other attractions such as a small theme park.
Longleat Safari and Adventure Park
Nestled in the heart of Wiltshire; head down to Longleat Safari and Adventure Park and make friends with some real wild animals. Since it opened its doors in 1966 Longleat has become the UK’s #1 Safari Park. Whether on foot, inside your car, or on board a boat heading down the river, there’s plenty to see and do. Why not take a walk through the Jungle Kingdom where you can get up-close and personal with Meerkats, take a ride on the train, or hand-feed the Rainbow Lorikeets?
Lake District Wildlife Park, Cumbria
Nestled among the mountains of North Cumbria you’ll find the Lake District Wildlife Park with more than 100 species of animals and birds. The most striking thing about this zoo is how natural and in tune it is with its national park surroundings. Aside from the zebra, red pandas and the mandrill monkeys, the birds of prey display is a must-see. The handlers put on an informative and entertaining show flying birds low over the audiences’ heads. Tweens and toddlers love this small zoo day out, but come prepared for a bit of walking.
