This year, The Walt Disney Company is celebrating 100 years of Disney. So, as part of the Rainbow Designs Mickey Mouse and Friends takeover, we wanted to share some super-fun Disney-themed ideas that families can enjoy together as they mark the big birthday!

1. Enjoy a Disney moviethon

This most wholesome way to mark 100 years of Disney doesn’t even require you to leave the house. Get your kids to grab their Disney toys for the best moviethon in history! Popcorn at the ready, you’ve got a whole lot of films to get through!

2. Play dress-up as your favourite Disney characters

What little ones don’t enjoy dressing up as their favourite Disney character? So hit the fancy dress box for an afternoon of pretend play fun!

3. Bake a Mickey Cake

Treat the family to this delicious Mickey Mouse shaped cake from Delish.com

4. Plan a Disney activities session

The internet is a wonderful place! Head to the DisneyMagicMoments website to download and print a whole lot of colouring and activity sheets, featuring all your favourite Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters.

5. Challenge the family to the ultimate Disney Quiz

We love this one from Beano.com!

6. Through a Disney themed birthday party

No, you don’t have to wait until one of your children’s birthdays to throw a party – it’s Disney’s centenary anniversary, after all. So grab some decorations, plan your Disney-themed party activities (we’re thinking “Simba’s pin the tail on the lion”, “Snow White’s Poison Apple Bop”, “Jasmine’s Musical Magic Carpets” and more!), and get baking some Disney themed treats! It’s party time!

7. See Disney on stage

There’s something magical for everyone, with Disney! In the UK, fans can enjoy Disney inspired musicals, concerts and family shows. So, whether it’s the theatrical performance of The Lion King, Frozen: The West End Musical, Disney on Ice or otherwise, head to Disney Tickets to book a special trip that can be enjoyed by the whole family!

8. Head for a spot of Disney Afternoon Team!

One for the adult fans… there are plenty of sites offering Disney themed afternoon tea. Head to afternoonteaorcreamtea.com to find a venue near you!

9. Plan the trip of a lifetime: to Disneyland or Disney World

Okay so this one might not be possible straight away, but it could be fun to start the planning! There are six Disney resorts in California, Florida, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong and China.

10. Cuddle-up to the new Mickey Mouse and Friends toys from Rainbow Designs

Rainbow Designs is home of many much-loved characters, and has a collection for every Disney fan. Find out more here.
