This week, we’ve been introducing the BeKind Doll collection, from Simba Toys UK. Not just beautiful to look at, these new dolls are offering families a greener choice. Made from recycled materials, presented in eco-fashions, and packaged using recycled and reusable materials, the BeKind dolls are spreading the most beautiful messaging, centred around kindness, creativity, and compassion.

This is a collection that appeals to the ever-increasing number of parents who are actively seeking out more eco-conscious options in the toy aisle. But this got us to thinking… what is that is motivating more parents and gift buyers to go green when shopping for toys?

Here are three key reasons that are driving demand for eco-conscious toys…

  1. Helps to educate children on environmental issues

Toys are some of the first items that a child will know and engage with, so what better product than a favourite toy to help teach children about the importance of caring for the environment. By teaching a child in their early years, when their brain is like a sponge, parents are helping to instil those important values from a young age.

  1. A greater amount of choice

Whilst there might have been the odd toy that offered a more environmentally friendly choice, the selection of these toys was somewhat limited, and perhaps a little more expensive, up until more recent years. For parents now, there is certainly more choice, with eco-conscious toys of all sorts now available at affordable prices. Therefore, it’s becoming easier and easier to make greener choices.

  1. It’s ethically right

As the years pass, we become ever more knowledgeable about the impact of humans on planet Earth. We are also becoming more mindful about the impact that we can all make to help protect the planet for generations to come. And with this knowledge and better availability of affordable, greener options, comes an ethical decision – one that many more are now tending towards.
