With October half-term coming up, we’ve put our heads together here at UKMums.TV and come up with some fab UK holiday destinations for you and the family that you can visit by car! Take a look at some fab places you can visit;

Whitby
If you’re into heritage coastlines, famous fish and chip shops and beautiful beaches then Whitby is for you! Holidaymakers have been flocking to Whitby for hundreds of years for its spectacular scenery, amazing seafood and rich history.

Top things to do;

  1. Climb the 199 Steps…don’t forget to count them!
  2. Take a stroll along Whitby Beach
  3. Walk around Whitby Harbour
  4. Visit the many museums including Captain Cooks

Salcombe
The beautiful coastal town of Salcombe sits on the banks of the Kingsbridge Estuary making it one of the prettiest towns in South Devon. Located within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Salcombe is known for its outstanding coastal views and rolling surrounding countryside, as well as a centre for sailing. Salcombe is a great base for holiday spent messing about on the water or at the water’s edge, or just for a day trip – either way you will fall in love with this beautiful town.

Top things to do;

  1. Take part in some water sports – it’s an ideal location for sailing, kayaking, surfing or paddle boarding!
  2. Take a walk along the beautiful sandy beaches
  3. Visit the boutique shops, local art galleries and gift shops

Keswick
Keswick, situated between the huge bulk of Skiddaw and the gentle beauty of Derwentwater, has become the major centre for tourism in the northern Lake District.  This pretty market town offers a wide range of attractions for visitors, from shops and restaurants to museums with a difference, and boating trips around lake Derwentwater.

Top things to do;

  1. Visit Keswick market
  2. Water sports in the marinas on nearby Derwentwater
  3. Walking in the fells is one of the most popular draws to Keswick
