This week, we’re joined by Character Options for the Eco Soft Toys takeover. If you’ve not already read-up on this beautiful, cuddly collection of eco-conscious soft toys, you can do so from the takeover hub page. But first, here are some great ideas to help your family take soft toy play to a whole new level!

We all know how much children love their soft toys, especially in their formative years. Great for cuddling, and ideal for pretend play, soft toys are so versatile. But if you want to add a twist of creativity to your child’s soft toy play, keep reading for some great ideas…

Playing schools

Not just heaps of fun, this one packs some educational benefits too! Role-playing is key to a child’s development, and playing schools can really help little ones prepare for nursery and school. And, by inviting your little one’s best friends – their soft toys – to be their students, it’ll make it all the more fun! To get the most benefit from this game, practice activities that your child is likely to do at school, such as colouring at a desk or practicing numbers/colours.

Reading to them

Another fun activity that will be great for your child’s early learning journey is encouraging him/her to read to her soft toy pals. Of course, if they’re not quite at that developmental stage just yet, you can always read to both your child and his/her soft toys to make it more fun.

Teddy bear’s picnic

A teddy bear’s picnic is a super simple activity to organise that your children will love. All you need is your child’s favourite soft toys, as well as some tasty snacks! Be sure to pack some other activities too, like storybooks and outdoor games to add to the fun!
