Pancake Day is upon us and the big debate here at UKMums.TV is what’s the best pancake topping? For some of us, the ol’ lemon and sugar crepe just doesn’t cut the mustard! So we’ve been scrolling through Instagram to find some of the best shots that will hopefully inspire and tempt you traditionalists this time around!

Don’t trust your cooking skills or just want to keep it simple? If you’re local, head on down to the Where The Pancakes Are in London for some delicious and alternative pancake combos. Which stack would you choose? Bacon, blueberries and maple syrup or The Hummingbird consisting of cinnamon, poached pineapple, coconut and lime cream?

Get the kids involved this Pancake Day and go crazy decorating your pancakes!

So, what’s your favourite pancake topping? These adorable little morsels were made by @theplantifulchef who was also wonderful enough to share the recipe: 1 large really ripe banana 1/4 cup of oat flour 1/4cup buckwheat flour 2tbs of flax and 1/2 cup milk mixed and set aside 1/2tsp of baking powder Mash the banana and add in everything mix together, set aside to thicken. Fry in a pan over low/medium heat with a little coconut oil. #veganpancakes #pancakes #stacks #pancakes #healthypancakes #healthypancake #picspeanutbutter #instafoodie #foodiesofinstagram #eeeats #cleaneats #balance #balanced #healthy #food #pancakeday #pancaketoppings #foodporn #peanutbutter #PB&J #peanutbutterandjam #onmyplate #healthyeating #protein #foodie #yummy #pancakestack #nutrition #feedfeed #wholefoodfavs @thefeedfeed @wholefoods

Feeling fruity? Ditch the lemon and sugar combo this Pancake Day and top your pancakes with fresh fruit!

This is the stuff childhood dreams are made of! Even though we’re grown-ups now, there’s something about unicorns and rainbows which makes us feel we’re a kid again – and we love it. Just split the batter into seven bowls and add a few drops of food colouring to each bowl, then cook, stack and eat! Top with hundreds and thousands, marshmallows and blueberries. The kids will be mega impressed with this one!

This is the ultimate stack for all you chocoholics out there!

Dripping in sweet syrup and squirty cream, this stack is layered with fresh fruit and fluffy cloud-like pancakes.

If your pancakes always end up stuck to the ceiling or on the floor following an overly ambitious flip, take a break this Pancake Day and head down to the family-friendly chain Creams Café for some crepes!

As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the best pancake toppings and see your creations over on Facebook and Twitter @UKMumsTV.
