We asked one of the UK Mums TV testing team to put it through its paces and let us know what they thought of the Hoover Cordless HF9 Pet vacuum cleaner.

We asked that she give as honest a review as possible. Here’s what she thought.

Power
It has really great suction and is excellent for picking up pet hair.
Ease of Use
I found this Hoover easy to manoeuvre around the house and ideal weight for me, especially when doing the stairs and it even comes with a little light to illuminate the dirty areas.
Bagged or Bagless?
Bagless- which I think is great. It’s easy to empty and saves having to purchase bags every few months too.
Battery Charge and Run Time
The advertised battery life is 30 minutes, but for me felt more like 15 minutes, as the battery seems to run down rather quickly. It didn’t last enough to vacuum the entire house.
Then it took 3.5 hours to get a full charge and I found this rather a long time just to get 30 minutes of use. Particularly when I had to charge again as I hadn’t quite finished cleaning the house.
Cleaning Ability of the Hoover Cordless HF9 Pet Vacuum Cleaner
Generally, I found that it was really easy to use with great suction, this product is excellent for picking up pet hair and does a much better job than the Pet Hair Meile that I already had. Although, I have found that it always needs to be set to turbo for it to pick up efficiently on most surfaces.
Value For Money
The Hoover HF9 retails at £262 so it is one of the pricier products on the market.
I think it is a great product when fully charged, as the suction is great and it really does suck up the pet hair effectively. But I feel that the battery life lets it down.
I would recommend this vacuum cleaner for a quick tidy-up in between deep cleans but maybe not for a general all-rounder due to the battery life.

It’s a great product for a quick vacuum around before people come over not so great when you are vacuuming the entire house and need to charge halfway through.
The vacuum is quiet and certainly doesn’t sound like a small aircraft taking off in your front room – which is a bonus!

PROS

- The light on the end makes seeing into corners or under furniture easy.
- The battery is easy to remove and charge up.
- The bagless system makes life much easier than having to faff around with bags.
CONS
- It is quite pricey in comparison to some cleaners on the market. This is balanced by the fact that it cleans so well.
- The battery seems to run down quite quickly.
- The battery recharge time seemed to take ages, for 30 minutes of usage time.
So Would I Recommend the Hoover Cordless HF9 Pet Vacuum Cleaner?
Yes. I think the battery life could be better but the vacuum is really effective, so it’s worth the money.
